"I knew that this was going to happen," said Melissa Quair.
Her family shot video on two cellphones of the incident that happened last week on the corner of Flower Street and Palm Avenue. David Silva, 33, died after a confrontation with deputies in northeast Bakersfield.
Shortly after the incident, numerous sheriff's deputies arrived at the family's home and seized the two cellphones. The family said it was going to turn the video over to media outlets.
But, now Sheriff Donny Youngblood says an analysis of the cellphones by the Bakersfield Police Department shows that just one of the cellphones had video, and the other did not.
Youngblood said he's trying to get to the truth of the matter and has now sent the two phones to the FBI for more analysis.
"Was there video on that second phone or not? And I hope to God that
the FBI can give me that answer," said Younglbood.
