"So far we've located 29 to 30 names ranging from Social Security cards to credit cards, permanent resident cards, births certificates and medical cards," said Arvin Police Sgt. Jerry Martinez.
A local resident reported being the victim of a burglary. Then she received a statement from her J.C. Penney account. Someone had ordered merchandise delivered to an address on the 1400 block of Verde Court. Police served a search warrant at the home and discovered numerous stolen documents.
"We also located a brand new air-conditioning unit that was purchased, there was a brand new TV and the shipping box still there for the residents," said Martinez.
Police arrested 40-year-old Rosalinda Baeza and a 17-year-old female. Baeza was booked on 27 felony counts of receiving stolen property, using personal identifying information of another and participation in a street gang.
Police cautioned residents, noting that in some cases, their vehicles had been left unlocked, making it easier for thieves to enter and take valuables.
Anyone who believes they may have been a victim of identity theft or had stolen credit cards or other documents is urged to call Arvin police at (661) 854-3128.
