BPD: 2 suspects named, arrested in NYE shooting

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KBAK/KBFX) -- Bakersfield police have arrested two men who they say were involved in a shooting that happened during a New Year's Eve party at a business on Wible Road.

Tavon Roberts, 35, and Gary Pierson, 32, were located Friday night at Lowell Park. Police say Pierson was in possession of a handgun. Both face charges of attempted murder and various gang and weapons violations.

The shooting that wounded two men happened around 1 a.m. Jan. 1, 2014 at Cc's Southern Hospitality sports bar and grill in the 3500 blk. of Wible Rd.

One victim was found after crashing his car into the center divider on Wilson Road. The other turned up at a hospital. Both are expected to recover from their injuries.
