Coffee Road closed most of Friday after suspected DUI crash

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KBAK/KBFX) Coffee Road between Brimhall Road and Rosedale Highway was closed into late Friday afternoon following an overnight crash that downed power lines.

Kevin Ansolabehere, 20, was driving a pickup southbound on Coffee Road south of Jet Way when he left the roadway and struck a Pacific Gas and Electric Co. power pole, Bakersfield police said.

Police said Ansolabehere was driving drunk, and they arrested him.

The crash happened around 2:30 a.m., knocking out power in the area.

Police said about 4:20 p.m. that the roadway would open by 5 p.m. in both directions.
