DELANO, Calif. (KBAK/KBFX) - In the wake of super Typhoon Haiyan, the Philippines are trying to return to some sort of normalcy.
There is no question they need help.
With approximately 40 percent of this community Filipino, it's no wonder Sunday's fundraiser was held in Delano.
Car after car, people arrived at the Filipino Community Center in Delano, dropping off whatever they could to help those affected.
Many people in the Philippines are in desperate need of food, water and medical supplies.
Sunday's fundraiser was the second held by the local Filipino community. An earlier fundraiser in Bakersfield raised more than $140,000.
You can help those affected by either going on to the Red Cross website or calling Jay Tamsi, president of the Filipino Community of Delano at (661) 231-5623.
