East Brundage Lane closed for bomb squad call

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KBAK/KBFX) A portion of East Brundage Lane was closed for around three hours Monday morning for a bomb squad investigation.

Police said the object in the driveway of a business was examined and determined not to be a threat.

The road was closed from Mt. Vernon to Quantico avenues.

"There was just a bunch of objects placed at the gate, and it looked sort of like a shrine," police Sgt. Mary DeGeare said, "but one of the objects did look like it could contain explosives, and so we took precaution and had the bomb squad come out and take a look at it."

Anyone with information helpful to the investigation is asked to call Detective Gary Carruesco at (661) 326-3617.
