Ex-teacher gets jail for 4th DUI

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KBAK/KBFX) A former teacher was sentenced Thursday to a year in jail for driving drunk.

Brandi Lynn Sherman took a plea earlier this month to her fourth DUI.

Sherman was taken into custody Sept. 19, while she still worked as a teacher for the Sillect Community School. Officers found Sherman sitting in her car in a turn lane through multiple green lights.

It marked her fourth DUI arrest in the past three years. Sherman resigned after her arrest, effective Sept. 30.
