Father, son killed in McFarland shooting
McFARLAND, Calif. (KBAK/KBFX) A father and his son are dead Wednesday after a shooting in McFarland.
Kern County Sheriff's officials say the shooting happened just after 11 p.m. Tuesday in the 33000 block of Sherwood Avenue.
Both men, 28-year-old Fernando Valdez Jr. and 53-year-old Fernando Valdez Sr., were rushed to area hospitals, where they died, according to sheriff's detectives.
Valdez Jr. worked as a Realtor for Bakersfield's RE/MAX Magic, according to his Facebook page.
Sheriff's officials say the shooter is described as an adult male in his 20s, wearing a dark-colored ski mask.
