Flames burn northwest Bakersfield home

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KBAK/KBFX) - A three-alarm fire burned a northwest Bakersfield home Saturday morning.

Officials said that everyone living at the house in the 7500 block of Penny Marie made it out safely.

Firefighters were called out to the fire just after 8 a.m. Saturday after getting reports of smoke coming from the home.

Firefighters searching the house reported finding that the flames were seated in the garage, sending smoke into the attic. Crews managed to put the fire out before it spread to the rest of the house, officials said.

The fire marshal said that the fire appeared to be accidental, however they aren't ruling out electrical problems as the cause.

Officials estimate the damages are at around $100,000.
