Former teacher pleads to 4th DUI
BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KBAK/KBFX) - A former teacher who was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence has taken a plea deal.
Brandi Lynn Sherman entered no contest pleas Wednesday to charges of DUI with an enhancement for priors, and for driving while her license was suspended because of a drunken-driving conviction.
Sherman was taken into custody Sept. 19, while she still worked as a teacher for the Sillect Community School.
Officers found Sherman sitting in her car in a turn lane through multiple green lights.
It marked her fourth DUI arrest in the past three years.
Sherman resigned after her arrest, effective Sept. 30.
Sherman, 38, is due to be sentenced Oct. 31.
