Freight train derails near Tehachapi

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KBAK/KBFX) A Burlington Northern Santa Fe freight train derailed Tuesday morning in the Golden Hills area near Tehachapi.

Several boxcars came off the tracks, with at least one tumbling down a snowy hill.

Lena Kent with BNSF said that train originated in Chicago and was going to Stockton, "carrying freight of all kinds."

The train wasn't hauling anything hazardous, and no one was hurt in the derailment, Kent said.

Kent didn't say what caused the derailment.
