Salvador Padilla, 41, was identified as the suspect. The man he is accused of stabbing, Johnny Garza, had his right arm amputated as a result of his extensive injuries.
Tuesday, the sheriff's gang unit developed information that led them to Padilla in the 3300 block of Mesa Drive, according to the sheriff's office. Padilla was arrested after a short foot pursuit, the sheriff's office said.
Padilla's bail was set at more than $1.5 million as he awaits charges of attempted homicide, aggravated mayhem and assault with a deadly weapon.
