Live-in boyfriend accused of murdering Lake Isabella toddler

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KBAK/KBFX) A mother and her live-in boyfriend were arrested over the weekend for the death of a toddler.

Sophialynn Marie Taylor, 14 months old, was found unresponsive early Saturday morning at her home on Erskin Creek Road in Lake Isabella. The girl was taken to Kern Valley Hospital, where she died.

An autopsy is scheduled, but Kern County homicide detectives have already arrested the girl's mother and boyfriend. The sheriff's office didn't release details of its investigation.

Amanda Marie Reese, 22, was booked into county jail in Bakersfield on suspicion of child abuse. Jared Ramirez, 24, was booked on suspicion of murder and child abuse resulting in the death of a child.
