Man arrested after Oildale standoff, allegations of threats
OILDALE, Calif. (KBAK/KBFX) - Kern County deputies arrested a man Monday after he allegedly held a woman hostage and made threats to civilians and officers.
The sheriff's office originally got a call related to a man with a gun, though, in the end, the man didn't appear to have a gun. Jason Snyder, 53, did have two large knives, the sheriff's office said.
Snyder was in an apartment off Beardsley Avenue just west of Chester. He let a woman go free before coming out with the knives, the sheriff's office said. Snyder was taken into custody after deputies deployed a stun gun.
Snyder was arrested on suspicion of false imprisonment, making terrorist threats, spousal abuse and brandishing a weapon.
