School board OKs high-interest bond measure

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KBAK/KBFX) Lakeside Union School District's board unanimously approved a high-interest bond measure Tuesday night.

The district is moving forward with a $10.3 million bond measure to cover bond debt coming due in June.

The district is turning to a capital appreciation bond, which could carry interest as high as $6 for every $1 borrowed.

The bond measure could also increase property taxes in the Lakeside district, which operates Lakeside School on Old River Road and Suburu School on Harris Road.
