Sinkhole that closed Planz Road is now fixed
UPDATE: The sinkhole has been fixed, and Planz Road was open again Thursday morning. California Water Service spokesman Rudy Valles said the sinkhole was caused by a 10-inch water main that was leaking and caused what he called a "void" under the street.
The original story, posted Wednesday, is below.
BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KBAK/KBFX) A portion of Planz Road was closed to traffic Wednesday afternoon after a sinkhole developed.
Eyewitness News was awaiting a return call from the city's Public Works Department for additional information.
