Spilled gravel slows traffic on Hwy 99
BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KBAK/KBFX) - A jack-knifed big rig spilled gravel on the lanes of northbound Highway 99 just north of Olive Drive on Tuesday night, causing slow going while the mess was cleaned up.
California Highway Patrol officers said at least two vehicles spun out and ended up facing the wrong way. No injuries were reported.
The accident happened just before 10 p.m.
The CHP ran traffic breaks from California Avenue to Airport Drive to slow traffic approaching the crash site, but the highway remained open with most the mess blocking just one lane.
