Woman hit crossing A Street in Bakersfield has died

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KBAK/KBFX) A woman has died after being hit by a car in central Bakersfield, the Kern County coroner's office said late Tuesday.

The crash happened around 8:15 p.m. Monday in the 300 block of A Street.

Police said the woman, identified by the coroner's office as Kimberly Felice Berry, age unknown, was crossing the street when she was hit by a Mazda sedan driven by a 20-year-old man.

Police said there are no crosswalks in the area. Anyone who may have witnessed the crash is asked to call police at (661) 327-7111.

This was the fourth crash involving a pedestrian over a four-day period, spanning Friday through Monday. Three of the four crashes proved fatal for the pedestrians. The drivers weren't hurt.
