BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KBAK/KBFX) —
Congressman David Valadao, R-Hanford, spoke to Eyewitness News on Wednesday from Washington via satellite about a recent letter he sent to the president about immigration.
Valadao seeks to secure the nation's borders, while also creating a pathway to legal status for many of the estimated 11 million undocumented people in the United States who have "otherwise followed the law."
The congressman also discussed the recent departure of national security adviser Michael Flynn at a time when concern is growing among many in Washington about Russian influence and aggression. Valadao said he is in favor of congressional investigations on the matter.
He also fielded questions about foreign trade deals and future legislation regulating water use in California.
