Police were called to the Hotel Monaco just after 1 p.m. Thursday after Bendik, 35, was found dead by a hotel maid.
The city medical examiner's office confirmed Bendik's identity and will determine the cause and manner of death.
There were no signs of foul play. Police have found no evidence of drug use or suicide, according to sources.
Tobin's manager, Ricky Rollins of Schumacher Management, also confirmed Bendik's death and says that "with respect to both the Bendik and Tobin families, there is no comment at this time."
Tobin, most famous for playing Kitty in the "Glee" TV series, was seen with the nightclub owner in the city the day before, but it is not known where she was at the time of the tragedy.
Philadelphia police have described Bendik's death as "sudden" and sources tell TMZ.com there was no evidence of suicide, foul play, or drug use in the room.
Editors at the website also report there was no medication nearby and no visible injuries to Bendik's body, and it is believed he was found dead in bed.
Almost a year ago, "Glee" star Cory Monteith died of an accidental alcohol and drug overdose in a Canadian hotel. Tobin joined the show's cast in 2012.
