Meet Condors new head coach Troy Mann

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KBAK/KBFX) The Bakersfield Condors had a tough season last year, finishing in last place in their division with a 22-44 record, despite being in the top half of the ECHL in attendance.

New head coach Troy Mann stopped by the Eyewitness News Morning Show on Wednesday and talked about leadership and the future of the Condors.

Mann spent the last eight seasons coaching, including the past four campaigns as an assistant coach with the Hershey Bears in the American Hockey League. During his time in Hershey, the Bears went 180-100-22, including a record-setting 2009-10 season when the Bears finished 60-17-3. That year, the Bears set the AHL record for wins in one season and won the 2010 Calder Cup.

Mann played 10 years of professional hockey and won the 1999 Kelly Cup Championship playing under Anaheim Ducks Coach Bruce Boudreau. He also played seven games with the Condors during the 2000-01 season, scoring a goal and two assists.

The public is invited to meet Mann 12:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Bakersfield Marriott on Truxtun in downtown.
