Anchor uses pregnancy to show options in battling side effects
It's an exciting time at Eyewitness News. Evening anchor Amity Addrisi is expecting her first baby.
Morning anchor and longtime friend Lynda Halligan made the official announcement Wednesday on Eyewitness News. Addrisi met her husband a number of years ago, while they were both producers at the station, so it truly is an Eyewitness News baby.
Addrisi is about six months pregnant but has not revealed whether she's having a boy or girl.
As a first time mom-to-be, she's noticing some body changes that she wasn't exactly expecting. To help out other expectant mothers, Eyewitness News took a look at some common side effects, such as varicose veins and stretch marks, that can actually be prevented.
Bakersfield plastic surgeon Dr. Darshan Shah explained what you can do to prevent the unsightly and uncomfortable side effects as you prepare for the more fun parts of having a baby, like coming up with baby names and decorating his or her room.
