15-year-old arrested in carjacking, 2 suspects still outstanding

A 15-year-old boy has been arrested in Lamont after an alleged carjacking and a pursuit. Now deputies are asking for help locating two other suspects.

Kern County deputies received a report of a carjacking Tuesday night. The victim reported three suspects, one armed with a handgun, exited a van, took keys and fled the scene in the victim's Honda.

Deputies found that van in northeast Bakersfield and later spotted the suspects in the stolen Honda in the area of Habecker and Segrue Road in Lamont. The short pursuit ended with a crash, and two of the three suspects escaped on foot.

The driver, a 15-year-old boy, was caught and arrested. No weapons were found in the car, however deputies did locate ammunition.
