15 years to life in prison for deadly DUI driver
BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KBAK/KBFX) Punishment was handed down Friday for a man who caused a fatal crash last year.
Albert Garza ran a stop sign near Shafter, slamming his SUV into a pickup and killing 19-year-old Manuel Cantu and 36-year-old Hans Marlette.
Garza was found guilty in June on two counts of second-degree murder and two counts of gross vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated.
He was sentenced Friday in Kern County court to two consecutive terms of 15 years to life in prison.
