2 men plead not guilty in Visalia double homicide

VISALIA, Calif. (AP) Two men have pleaded not guilty to murder with special circumstances in a double homicide at a home in the San Joaquin Valley city of Visalia.

Twenty-one-year-old Adrian Castillon and 30-year-old Reyes "Ray" Garcia entered the pleas at their arraignments in Tulare County on Tuesday. The special circumstances include murder during a robbery, murder during a burglary and multiple murders. The men could face the death penalty if found guilty.

Tulare County investigators say the two men killed 59-year-old Marie Rogers and 58-year-old Jerry Murillo at their home on Friday morning. They have released few other details about the case, including how the victims died, though Visalia Police Chief Colleen Mestas has called the murders gruesome.

Castillon and Garcia were arrested Saturday on a Visalia city bus.
