Arvin down to final 3 police chief candidates
ARVIN, Calif. (KBAK/KBFX) - And, then, there were three.
The Arvin City Council will interview its finalists for the city's vacancy at police chief, according to an agenda for Tuesday night. The interviews will be held in closed session.
The city fired Tommy Tunson as police chief about six months ago. His interim replacement, Louis Cobarruviaz, is one of 40 to apply for the position.
"We need someone who recognizes the need of a small community, a small bilingual community," Arvin City Manager Tim Chapa told Eyewitness News last month, when the list of candidates was whittled down to 10.
The City Council won't announce a hiring decision Tuesday.
