BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KBAK/KBFX) Opening soon in Bakersfield, Bottom's Up Espresso is self-described as a combination of great customer service, great drinks and sexy women. The business, however, has brewed controversy in other communities. The drive-through coffee stand features bikini-clad baristas.Co-owner Alexandra Ireland said the location on the corner of Stockdale Highway and Allen Road will be open "probably the first week of June."Ireland said they still have to install some equipment, then hire staff, then the shop is good to go."We have a lot of really excited customers down there, too," said Ireland. At their Clovis location, Ireland said they recently changed their menu, removing some of the more racy-named selections."We want to do everything we can to make every community happy and excited to have us," said Ireland. "Moving forward, we're happy with our new changes we made to our menu."Bottom's Up also has coffee stands in Modesto, Vernalis and Tracy.Ireland also doesn't see an issue with the new shop's location, right across the street from Bakersfield Christian High School."Our business is completely legal, and it needs no special ordinances," she said, "so even if there is a backlash, there's nothing anyone can do about it."
