BPD: Driver who struck, killed 11-year-old not at fault

The Bakersfield Police Department says the driver who struck and killed an 11-year-old girl in south Bakersfield last month will not face charges.

On June 16, Fatima Lopez was hit by a car while crossing the street at the intersection of Stockdale Highway and California Avenue.

Lopez has taken to the hospital, where she later died.

Police said Friday that the driver wasn't at fault and will not face any charges.
