TRIP warns of closures for upcoming roadwork in Bakersfield
BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KBAK/KBFX) —
Roadwork will force lane, ramp and road closures over the coming days around Bakersfield.
The Thomas Roads Improvement Program said the Highway 58 off-ramp to Union Avenue will be closed on the nights of Nov. 13-14 between 9 p.m. and 5 a.m. A nighttime ramp closure is planned for the two outside lanes near the off-ramp for paving.
Drivers will need to exit the freeway at H Street or Cottonwood Road while a paving operation is underway.
A closure for the two outside lanes on northbound Highway 99 is scheduled from Nov. 13-15. This closure, between the hours of 9 p.m. and 5 a.m., is needed for a paving operation.
The Ming Avenue off-ramp is also expected to be closed while this work is underway.
Restriping will cause closures for alternating lanes for southbound 99 on Nov. 15 between the hours of 11 p.m. and 4 a.m. The work will shift the traffic lanes to the outside of the roadway.
The Ming Avenue southbound on-ramp is expected to be closed during this time. At least one freeway lane will be open while this work is underway. Motorists can enter the freeway at Real Road or White Lane.
P Street will be closed around the clock for the reconstruction at Hwy. 58 on Monday at 9 p.m. and re-open on Thursday at 5 a.m.
