Coroner: Woman found in freezer had been shot
BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KBAK/KBFX) —
The Kern County Coroner on Wednesday released new information about the body of a woman found three weeks ago in a large freezer in Oildale.
The woman, who has been identified as 62-year-old Diane Hugo, was discovered by a squatter in the 100 block of Woodrow Avenue. There was also a dog in the freezer, which was turned on and cold when crime scene technicians processed the scene.
The sheriff's department, which before today labeled the incident a suspicious death, now says that Hugo was shot to death. It's not known when that occurred or how long her body was in the freezer.
Nobody has been named as a suspect, sheriff spokesperson Ray Pruitt said.
