Firefighters reach full containment on Tarina Fire

The Kern County Fire Department said it has reached 100 percent containment on the Tarina Fire.

The blaze burned around 1,200 acres.

Firefighters were first called out to the fire around 2 p.m. Friday. When they arrived, the fire had burned only 20 acres, but it quickly grew.

No homes were evacuated, and no structures were threatened.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
