Deputies want help solving who shot football star
BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KBAK/KBFX) The Kern County Sheriff's Office asked for the public's help Tuesday in finding the shooter or shooters from a May 19 party on the 2200 block of Edwards Avenue.
Two teens were shot at the party. One of them is 18-year-old Kamari Cotton-Moya, who was a football star at Ridgeview High School. He earned a scholarship to play at Iowa State.
The other man shot is 18-year-old Kolin Jones.
Deputies went to the scene on numerous 911 calls of shots being fired. About 100 people had attended the party, and deputies found several spent shell casings in the roadway.
The sheriff's office later learned the wounded teens were taken to Kern Medical Center. Their injuries weren't life-threatening.
