Some of the students allegedly involved with the 36-year-old math teacher were as young as 14.
Kern County court documents obtained by Eyewitness News state that Failla would send text messages to students one by one to come see her in her classroom. Once there, Failla would perform oral sex on the students, according to court papers.
Police were tipped off about the alleged sex acts when a teacher at the high school overheard a student in the locker room talking about a female teacher who had engaged in oral sex with one of his friends. The teacher relayed that information to police, who began investigating.
Failla was arrested July 27 after police served a search warrant at her home in Tehachapi. Police seized computers and cellphones.
Police also said students reported that Failla had been "sexting" nude photographs of herself to students.
This is the second time California City police investigated Failla for allegedly having sex with students. Another investigation in April was tabled due to lack of evidence.
Failla has yet to be charged and remains free on bail. Police believe at least three students were involved in sexual encounters with Failla and possibly more.
