Fugitive wanted in Oregon shooting captured in California

MORENO VALLEY, Calif. (AP) A man wanted in a violent home invasion robbery in Oregon has been arrested in Southern California.

FBI spokeswoman Laura Eimiller said in a statement Wednesday that 25-year-old David Robert Friend was arrested in Moreno Valley.

Authorities alleged that Friend and an accomplice forced their way into a Springfield, Ore. house in July 2011 and shot and wounded a man in the house.

Friend was charged with attempted murder, burglary, assault and other counts.

He evaded arrest until investigators recently learned that he had been living in Riverside County.

Eimiller said Lane County detectives are expected to take Friend back to Oregon soon to face prosecution.
