Gang member convicted of murder

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KBAK/KBFX) - A gang member was convicted Thursday of murder, attempted murder and other charges.

Dvontae Pink and his accomplice shot Floyd Bean Jr. in the back in February 2013. Bean was walking to Roy's Market on Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard to buy a soda when he was gunned down, according to the Kern County District Attorney's Office.

Pink's accomplice, Jimmy Baker, was previously convicted and sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole.

Prosecutors say Pink and two others also participated in a drive-by shooting a week before Bean's murder.

Pink's sentencing is slated for next month.
