Tanker truck overturns, prompting street closures and hazmat response

Police on Wednesday shut the area of Panama Lane and South Union Avenue off to traffic after a tanker truck overturned and started leaking a light crude oil.

A hazmat crew also responded.

A witness said the truck crashed while trying to make a left turn.

There was a shelter-in-place order, and crews siphoned the leaking substance and tried to keep it out of storm drains.

The driver wasn't injured in the crash.
