Hwy 99 reopens after man threatens to jump
BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KBAK/KBFX) —
Highway 99 is back open after a man threatened to jump off the freeway, according to the Kern County Sheriff's Office.
Sheriff's officials were called to Hwy. 99 and Olive Drive around 2:30 a.m. Monday. They said they found a 49-year-old man in distress and threatening to jump off the freeway bridge.
According to the Sheriff's Office, the man was talked off the bridge just after 5 a.m. and is now receiving psychiatric help.
