All lanes of NB I-5 on the Grapevine back open after big rig jackknifes

UPDATE (10:17 a.m.): Caltrans says all lanes are now open on northbound Interstate 5 between Lebec and the base of the Grapevine in Kern County after a morning crash. A big rig jackknifed in the crash, which also involved a box truck.

UPDATE (9:30 a.m.): Caltrans reports two lanes are back open after the morning crash involving a big rig and box truck.

Traffic delays are about 90 minutes at this point.

Estimated time to have all lanes open now 11:30 a.m.

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KBAK/KBFX) - Three lanes of northbound Interstate 5 are closed Monday morning between Lebec and the base of the Grapevine in Kern County after two trucks were involved in a crash.

A big rig jackknifed.

Caltrans said an involved box truck was carrying 30,000 pounds of fish. The big rig was hauling car batteries. There was also a fuel spill.

The California Highway Patrol estimated all lanes would reopen around 9:30 a.m.

No serious injuries were reported.
