Judge orders trial for jail guard accused of threatening wife with gun
BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KBAK/KBFX) A judge Wednesday ordered a Kern County detentions deputy to stand trial on allegations of pointing a gun to his wife's head.
James Ronald Tackitt Jr. allegedly pointed a gun at his wife in January and threatening to kill her and himself. Investigators with the Bakersfield Police Department said Tackitt forced his wife into a closet, forced her to kneel and put the loaded gun to her head.
Police said the wife was able to talk her husband into removing the firearm from her head. She left the house with her child, without being harmed.
Tackitt will faces charges of false imprisonment and assault with a firearm during trial, but a charge of spousal abuse was dismissed.
