KCSO's gang unit seizes 4 pounds of methamphetamine during investigation

Four pounds of methamphetamine was seized following a search warrant served at a pair of locations in Delano.

The Kern County Sheriff's Office Gang Street Enforcement Unit was doing a narcotics investigation on the 600 block of 8th Avenue and the 1600 block of Garces Highway involving the sale of methamphetamine.

Deputies found the meth, ammunition and a small amount of suspected rock cocaine during their search, according to the Sheriff's Office.

Deputies arrested 55-year-old Johnny Figueroa on suspicion of possession of a controlled substance for sale, maintaining a residence to sell a controlled substance, possession of ammunition by a felon, and possession of a controlled substance.

They also arrested 41-year-old Miguel Ayon Martinez on suspicion of possession of a controlled substance for sale, transportation of a controlled substance for the purpose of sale, and possession of controlled substance for sale.

Deputies estimated the street worth of the suspected meth at $70,000.
