Kern County back in drought conditions
BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KBAK/KBFX) —
Kern County is now in a moderate drought, the U.S. Drought Monitor reported Thursday.
The benefits of last winter's rains have "expired," Eyewitness News Chief Meteorologist Miles Muzio said.
Areas to our south -- Los Angeles, Ventura and Santa Barbara counties -- are now designated as suffering from "severe" drought.
There's no rain in the upcoming Kern County forecast. Muzio said there will be "little day-to-day change," with haze and mild, sunny conditions in the 60s and 70s.
