More Kern County deputies to start wearing body cameras
BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KBAK/KBFX) —
More Kern County deputies will be outfitted with body cameras.
Kern County supervisors on Tuesday voted to accept a grant from the U.S. Department of Justice to help fund the $270,000 project of outfitting all patrol deputies in metro Bakersfield.
Sheriff Donny Youngblood addressed the issue before the board, telling the supervisors about the success of body cameras used by deputies in Wasco and other areas.
The sheriff said the cameras reduce citizen complaints and improve transparency.
