Kern County Mental Health to change its name
BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KBAK/KBFX) —
The Kern County Mental Health Department will officially change its name to Behavioral Health and Recovery Services on Wednesday.
Department officials say they are changing the name because they needed a name that provided a more complete understanding of who they treat.
BHRS provides mental health and substance use treatment for adults and children. They also provide therapy services, judicial services, crisis services, outreach and workforce development.
