Emergency workers help man who fell into Kern River
BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KBAK/KBFX) —
A man was rescued in the Kern River Canyon after he had fallen into the river on Friday.
The search-and-rescue team was called out after family members could not find the man.
Clayton Endes, 27, had parked his vehicle along the river. He had fallen into the water and was washed downstream, according to the Kern County Sheriff's Office.
He was able to exit the river quickly and began walking along the north bank of the river.
Endes saw a Caltrans worker and called him for help.
Firefighters were then called to help hoist Endes to the other side of the river safely.
Endes had no injuries that required medical attention.
