Lamont man accused of kidnapping girlfriend at knifepoint
LAMONT, Calif. (KBAK/KBFX) - A Lamont man was arrested Thursday night for allegedly kidnapping his girlfriend and leading Kern County deputies on a chase.
Rudy Gomez, 25, is accused of breaking a window, stabbing a tire and kicking his girlfriend during a domestic disturbance around 7:30 p.m. on the 17000 block of Russell Avenue.
He and the woman took off in Gomez's car when deputies arrived. Deputies later found out the girlfriend was allegedly forced to leave at knifepoint.
Gomez led deputies on a brief chase that ended in the 900 block of Werenli Court in Arvin. Gomez allegedly resisted arrest and was struck with a baton prior to submitting, according to the sheriff's office.
The boyfriend faces possible charges of kidnapping, criminal threats, brandishing a weapon, vandalism, battery and evading.
