Man chases dog onto street, both killed by bus

LOS ANGELES (AP) A Southern California man who chased his dog onto a street was hit by a bus and died, along with his pet.

City News Service reports the dog was chasing a ball late Wednesday morning in North Hollywood.

Metro spokesman Luis Inzunza says the driver tried to swerve from the lane but couldn't avoid hitting the man and the dog.

The southbound 94 bus struck them both.

No injuries were reported on the bus, which was carrying three passengers at the time.

The victim's name has been withheld pending notification of next of kin.
