Man in missing Calif. teen case turns self in

SAN ARDO, Calif. (AP) Authorities say a person of interest in the case of a 16-year-old girl who went missing after two bodies were found at her Monterey County home has turned himself in.

The Monterey Herald reports that 39-year-old Juan Manuel Salazar turned himself in on Sunday night.

Authorities issued an Amber Alert for the girl, Eunice Serrato, after Serrato's parents found two men shot to death in the bathroom of their San Ardo home on Saturday night and their daughter missing.

Monterey County Sheriff's deputies were searching for Salazar and his son, 19-year-old Juan Manuel Salazar, Jr. The younger Salazar also described as a person of interest in the case is apparently the missing girl's boyfriend. Deputies believe he may be taking her to Mexico.
