Meet those helping save lives at St. Jude Children's Research Hospital
More children are surviving cancer today, and it's thanks in part to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
According to hospital officials, protocols developed at St. Jude have helped push the overall survival rates for childhood cancers from less than 20 percent when the hospital opened in 1962 to 80 percent today.
Eyewitness News took a trip to the hospital in Memphis, Tennessee, recently to meet some of the team of researchers, doctors and staff who are helping improve the lives of so many kids around the world, including some from Kern County.
