More than a decade in federal prison for man behind mortgage fraud
FRESNO, Calif. (KBAK/KBFX) - A Bakersfield man was sentenced Monday in federal court to nearly 11 years in prison for committing mail fraud, wire fraud and bank fraud.
Eric Ray Hernandez admitted in his plea agreement to defrauding mortgage lenders of more than $6 million between 2005 and 2007 by submitting false loan applications and fraudulent documentation.
Monica Marie Hernandez and Evelyn Brigget Sanchez were also indicted in 2010 in the case. They are still awaiting trial.
