A person was injured Thursday night by a hit-and-run driver after being chased into the street by an aggressive stray dog, according to California Highway Patrol Officer John Ehret.

The collision at Casa Loma Drive and Pogososo Street was witnessed by several people, and the vehicle was described as possibly a white SUV. Ehret said it doesn't appear the vehicle suffered much damage.

Ehret said the pedestrian suffered major injuries but is expected to survive.
